we cannot wait to host you in Ogrodniczki, a small village just outside Bialystok, Poland, on 15 August 2026. this is where zuza grew up and where her family still lives, so the place is very special to us.

the ceremony, followed by canapés, will take place in Zuza's garden - surrounded by forest, fields and her five wandering cats.

dinner & speeches will take place in the marquee, followed a night full of dancing & oczepiny (wedding games).

polish weddings famously continue until morning - so expect plenty of food, a mix of polish and English traditions and a relaxed summery feeling. All this will be topped off with a little vodka.

getting there

flying to warsaw

warsaw chopin airport (WAW) – the main airport in warsaw, located close to the city centre; we recommend flying here if possible

warsaw modlin (WMI) – a good alternative, about 40 km from warsaw but transport options may be limited

travelling to białystok

by car – the drive from warsaw takes about 2 hours. car rentals are available from all major companies

by train – journey time is 1.5–2 hours, and tickets can be purchased here (tickets from 30-70 PLN = 6-15 GBP)

by bus – we’re organising a coach transfer from warsaw chopin airport to białystok on friday 1pm and back to warsaw chopin airport on sunday 1pm.

travelling to the venue on saturday

we’ll organise a pick-up from białystok city centre at around 3:15pm to bring everyone to the venue, with multiple rides during the night to take guests back to the city. taxis and bolts are also widely available. for those driving, parking will be available at Biedronka supermarket next door.

when should we arrive for the wedding?

If you're traveling from abroad, we recommend arriving in Warsaw by Thursday or Friday morning to give yourself time to travel to bialystok and settle in before the weekend.

should we rent a car?

we will arrange for transportation from warsaw to bialystok (friday) and back (sunday), so renting a car is not necessary. trains are also frequent and at affordable prices. in bialystok taxis and bolts are widely available (& inexpensive). however, if you would like to see a bit of Poland while you're here, it may be easier to move around with a car and will grant you the flexibility you may need. on-street parking is generally available in cities, and free on the weekends.

tell me more about the coach transfer from warsaw to bialystok...

We’re planning to arrange a coach for our guests from Warsaw Chopin Airport to Białystok city center on Friday (around midday/early afternoon), and a return coach from Białystok back to Warsaw Chopin Airport on Sunday (late morning/early afternoon). Exact times will be confirmed closer to the date. If you’d like to use this option and your flight times line up, let us know!

will transportation be provided to the wedding venue?

yes, we will organise transport from bialystok city center to the venue at around 3:15pm (15 min drive) and multiple rides back during the night (from 12:30am till morning hours). taxis & bolts are widely available.

what are some recommended taxi companies in białystok?

when does the party end?

in Poland, there is no official end time to the wedding party - if people are having fun, the party goes on. transportation back to the city will go on till early morning, so will music, food and drinks.

Are children allowed at the wedding?

yes, we will try to make it easier on the parents and organise someone to look after & entertain kids during the night. we will ensure that there is some quiet area as well in case the little ones need to take a nap while parents carry on dancing. we will ensure there is a little nursing & nappy changing area available as well.

Can we bring a plus one?

we’re only able to accommodate the guests listed on your invitation. if you have any questions or special circumstances, drop us a message!

What should we do if we have dietary restrictions?

when submitting your rsvp, let us know about any dietary needs or allergies. we’ll reach out closer to the day to make sure everything’s noted and sorted.

What should I see while in Poland?

Poland is a large country, so all depends on the time you have. We would recommend a day or two in Warsaw, then Krakow or Gdansk.

Anything to be aware of when staying in Poland?

currency - PLN (Zloty) // driving - on the right-hand side // sockets - European // language - polish (but English is very widely spoken) // tips - not mandatory but 10% is appreciated // shops - most closed on sunday!

a shortlist of things to see in warsaw includes: the old town (stare miasto) + royal castle, krakowskie Przedmieście, Łazienki Park, Plac Piłsudskiego + thomb of the unknown soldier + Ogród saski, Palace of Culture and Science, Elektrownia Powiśle + Vistula Boulevards, Łazienki Park we recommend staying closer to old town or in śródmieście

what to see in białystok?

Branicki Palace + Planty Park, Market Square (Rynek Kościuszki), Cathedral, Lipowa Street, Galeria Alfa (Shopping Mall for any last minute needs). If you have more time & rented a car: consider a half-day trip to the Białowieża Forest (ancient woodland and European bison viewing) .
